Since the appointment, he has repeatedly spread disinformation about shootings, transgender people, vaccines, crime, and protests. He has baselessly claimed individual US shooters were motivated by leftist ideology, described faith-based protest groups as communists, and tied Democratic lawmakers to murders without evidence. His online posts have not changed in tenor, and his Trump-administration connections raise questions about corporate America’s capitulation to the MAGA movement. Starbuck defended his role as working to make AI fair and accused critics of cancel culture.
