Medical firm that posted NJ jobs linked to detention center says it won't work with ICE
"I can definitely tell you that Aspen Medical USA does not intend to be involved in the delivery of services to any proposed ICE facilities, either in NJ or elsewhere. Bond said his company regularly invites expression of interest applications for a range of health care roles, explaining the initial postings were part of standard recruitment practices."
"Aspen Medical has faced media scrutiny over similar postings in Merrimack, New Hampshire, where another ICE detention facility had been proposed. The company was among a group of firms recently awarded a U.S. Navy contract in connection with the Trump administration's multibillion-dollar spending plan on immigration enforcement and detention."
Aspen Medical USA, a Washington D.C.-based medical service provider with government contracts, posted job listings for healthcare positions at a proposed detention facility in Roxbury, New Jersey. The Trump administration purchased a warehouse in Roxbury for $129.3 million to convert into an ICE detention center. Following media scrutiny, company president Ethan Bond stated the postings should not exist and clarified the company is not recruiting for New Jersey positions. Bond announced Aspen Medical will not provide services to any proposed ICE facilities. The company had previously faced similar scrutiny over job postings in Merrimack, New Hampshire, where another ICE detention facility was proposed.
