Matthew Dowd is no longer with MSNBC after making an on-air comment tying hateful words to hateful actions following Charlie Kirk's killing. MSNBC confirmed his departure and said he was a paid political analyst. Dowd characterized Kirk as a divisive figure who pushes hate speech aimed at certain groups and said hateful thoughts lead to hateful words and actions. MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler called the commentary inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable and said there is no place for violence.
