Wexner said he needed someone to keep track of complex personal matters and that he hired Jeffrey Epstein to review and manage personal finances because he wanted accounting help, not investment advice. Wexner stated he never would have guessed he was being conned and described the deception as subtle. During extended questioning, Wexner's attorney repeatedly interrupted to limit long answers and whisperingly threatened Wexner after another rambling response.
