Larry Summers resigned from the OpenAI Board of Directors after lawmakers released his correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein. Summers said he was deeply ashamed of continuing to communicate with Epstein and announced he would step away from public commitments. OpenAI confirmed the resignation and thanked him for his contributions and perspective. Summers is leaving a paid contributor role at Bloomberg TV and will not have his New York Times opinion contract renewed. He also stepped down from positions at the Center for Global Development, the Center for American Progress, and Yale's Budget Lab.
