Jim Jordan: Ghislaine Maxwell 'Confirms' Trump in the Clear
"Appearing on The Big Weekend Show on Fox News Saturday, Jordan claimed Maxwell's statements that Trump was never inappropriate with anybody show there's nothing there pertaining to the president. This confirms what we all knew, Jordan said. He added, We knew President Trump didn't do anything wrong here. He said that repeatedly. This transcript is the whole transcript and it confirms that. So I think there's nothing there, it seems, based on what we got from the interview of Ms. Maxwell."
"In the DOJ interview conducted in July, Maxwell was unequivocal that she did not witness any inappropriate behavior from Trump and also downplayed the Trump-Epstein friendship which she said was not a close one. I actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting, Maxwell said. I never witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting in any way. The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects."
"Still, Maxwell the longtime Epstein associate who is a convicted child sex trafficker serving 20 years in federal prison hardly seems to be an unimpeachable witness. And her testimony about Trump, in particular, is further complicated by the fact that her lawyer has publicly angled for a pardon from the president. Everybody knows Ms. Maxwell would welcome any relief, said Maxwell's attorney, David Markus, last month."
Congressman Jim Jordan used Maxwell's DOJ interview to claim President Trump did nothing wrong in relation to Jeffrey Epstein. Maxwell said she never witnessed Trump in any inappropriate setting, never saw him in a massage setting, and described the Trump-Epstein friendship as not close. Maxwell is a convicted child sex trafficker serving 20 years in federal prison, and questions about her credibility persist. Her lawyer has publicly sought a pardon or other relief, which complicates assessments of her statements and how those statements are used politically regarding the Trump-Epstein connection.
