It's a Terrible Thing': Trump Slams Epstein Files Release, Rages At Republican Pushing For It
"I know there are a lot of people that are angry about all of the pictures of other people, you know, but I think it's terrible. Look, I don't like theI like Bill Clinton. I've always gotten along with Bill Clinton. I've been nice to him, he's been nice to me. We've always got along, and respect him. I hate to see photos come out of him, but this is what the Democratsmostly Democrats and a couple of bad Republicansare asking for, so they'll give me their photos of me too,"
"He was all over Palm Beach and other places. The head of Harvard was his best friend, Larry Summers. And Bill Clinton was a friend of his, but everybody was. I actually threw him out of Mar-a-Lago. And as a person that was in Mar-a-Lago, I threw him out. This is Mar-a-Lago. It's the hottest place inI think it's the hottest place in the world, but it's the hottest place in Florida."
President Donald Trump called the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files a terrible thing and blamed Democrats and a few Republicans for forcing disclosure. He criticized Rep. Thomas Massie for pushing a vote to release the files, which Trump later signed into law. Trump said he likes and respects Bill Clinton and expressed dislike that photos of Clinton and others are being shown. Trump recounted ejecting Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, noted Epstein's wide social connections including Larry Summers and Bill Clinton, and suggested some images show people who innocently met Epstein years ago while victims protested redactions.
