Iranian president lightly wounded while escaping Israeli attack
Briefly

On June 15, an Israeli air strike targeted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and other senior officials during a Supreme National Security Council meeting. The attack aimed to disrupt the leadership of Iran's government, as it was attended by heads of various branches of government. Although Pezeshkian suffered minor injuries, officials managed to escape through an emergency hatch. The strike was reported to have involved six missiles that blocked escape routes. An investigation into possible Israeli infiltration was initiated due to the operation's precision.
The assassination attempt targeted the heads of the three branches of government in an effort to overthrow it, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Electricity was severed following the explosions, but Iranian officials managed to escape through a pre-designated emergency hatch, including the president, who is said to have sustained minor leg injuries while evacuating.
They did try, yes but they failed, he said. It was not the United States that was behind the attempt on my life. It was Israel.
The strike was carried out shortly before noon during a meeting attended by the heads of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the government along with other senior officials.
