A CNN NewsNight panel became heated over President Trump's accusation of treason against former President Obama. Host Abby Phillip questioned the implications of Trump's comments, highlighting the severity of the accusation. Brad Todd shifted the focus to prior Democrat claims regarding Russian election interference. Keith Boykin objected, insisting the main issue was Trump's unfounded accusation against Obama. Todd claimed motives behind this discussion were distractions from other issues, arguing that Obama has shifted narratives in political discourse. The panel revealed tensions between commentators regarding Trump's controversial rhetoric and past Democratic narratives.
He's accusing a former president of treason and on top of that saying, It may not be right, but I'm gonna go after them anyway. What is he talking about? And what kind of country are we living in that that is actually what he is doing?
You're doing everything possible not to talk about the fact that the president of the United States, the current president of the United States, just accused a former president of treason and suggested a prosecution of that former president with no evidence! That is the problem!
Because Obama just undid three years of Democrat mythology. The problem is this is what Trump does. He distracts everybody.
