Republican Rep. Nancy Mace filed a resolution to censure Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, alleging Omar celebrated Charlie Kirk's death and smeared him as responsible. Video of Omar's interview with Mehdi Hassan shows Omar condemned Kirk's killing and expressed sympathy for his widow. The resolution also cites quotes from a TikTok repost that are the words of the TikTok user, not Omar. Mace posted the resolution and suggested Somalia could "take [her] back." Omar immigrated from Somalia as a child and pushed back against the resolution while disputing links to her committee assignments.
