"And at the end of my talk, one person out of the two hundred yelled out, Boo!' So I look over and I'm like, Who booed?' said Lutnick. And it's Al Gore! And I look at him, I go really?' And he goes, Boo.' Waters giggled alongside the secretary as Lutnick poked fun at the former Vice President's environmental activism. It was the greatest honor of my trip to Davos, he said."
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick spoke at an invite-only World Economic Forum dinner in Davos and criticized globalism and calls for a "new form of capitalism." One audience member loudly booed during the brief remarks and was later identified as former Vice President Al Gore. Lutnick mocked Gore's environmental activism and called the heckle the greatest honor of his trip. The soiree was reportedly halted after European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde walked out. Gore confirmed he reacted to the speech and said several others also expressed their disagreement with the administration's energy policy.
