Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has been vigorously promoting the Trump Card, a golden investor visa valued at $5 million, to foreign officials and business leaders. With nearly 70,000 individuals on the waiting list, Lutnick has been pitching this residency scheme internationally, claiming it can contribute significantly to national interests. The initiative, originally developed by Trump supporter John Paulson, intends to replace the EB-5 visa program and is seen as a desirable fast-track option for corporations looking to secure residency for top talent. However, various decisions regarding implementation remain pending.
Lutnick admitted to the Financial Times that he has been selling the so-called Trump Card to foreign dignitaries and business leaders from Riyadh to Palo Alto.
He added: Donald Trump appreciates these kinds of things. He cares about how it looks. He cares about how it feels.
Lutnick says it's about national interest. If we sell 200,000 of them, we bring in a trillion dollars, he claimed.
Originally conceived by Trump megadonor John Paulson, the Trump Card is already being eyed by global corporations as a fast-track residency lane for elite employees.
