Representative Jamie Raskin delivered a blistering opening statement accusing Attorney General Pam Bondi of leading a massive cover-up of Jeffrey Epstein-related files. Raskin alleged Bondi intentionally delayed release of millions of documents, publishing only about half and issuing inadequate, heavily redacted files that removed names of abusers, enablers, accomplices, and co-conspirators. Raskin characterized the conduct as sparing those individuals from embarrassment and disgrace contrary to legal requirements and declared the performance a cover-up. Raskin further accused Bondi of politicizing the Justice Department to serve President Donald Trump's personal agendas and of mishandling other investigations, including ICE and Border Patrol incidents.
