Harvard students capture Larry Summers insisting 'it's very important to fulfill my teaching obligations' | Fortune
"The University is conducting a review of information concerning individuals at Harvard included in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein documents to evaluate what actions may be warranted,"
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have served, excited about the potential of the company, and look forward to following their progress,"
Lawrence Summers maintained a friendly relationship with Jeffrey Epstein after Epstein’s 2008 conviction, according to released emails. Harvard reopened a review of individuals named in the Epstein documents to evaluate potential actions. A 2020 review found Epstein visited Harvard more than 40 times, was given an office, and had unfettered access to a research center he helped establish; a professor who provided the office faced restrictions. Summers said he would step back from public commitments and planned to resign from OpenAI’s board. Summers joined the OpenAI board in November 2023 and continued teaching at Harvard.
