Todd Blanche, who previously served as Trump's personal lawyer, visited Maxwell in prison for a deposition and defended his questioning by saying investigators lacked materials recently provided by Epstein's estate to Congress. Critics warned Blanche might seek to exonerate Trump or offer Maxwell preferential treatment, including a pardon. Maxwell's subsequent transfer to a more comfortable facility drew outcry from Epstein victims and observers.
