Gavin Newsom opened a tongue-in-cheek Patriot merchandise shop mocking President Donald Trump, including mock $100 Holy Bibles that he joked had sold out. The shop features parody items such as MAGA-red hats reading Newsom was right about everything!, a Trump is not hot tank top, and a T-shirt dubbing Newsom The Chosen One. Newsom used all-caps posts on X to mimic Trump's online persona and boasted of rapid sales, claiming about $50,000 within hours. Separately, Newsom proposed redrawing California's congressional maps, a plan that could add five Democratic seats amid Republican map efforts in Texas.
California governor Gavin Newsom escalated his trolling campaign against President Donald Trump by launching a tongue-in-cheek Patriot merchandise store, complete with mock listings of $100 Holy Bibles signed by him which he joked had sold out within hours. Newsom has spent weeks parodying the president's signature online persona and writing style. On Sunday, in a further trolling move, he announced he'd launched his new shop: THE PATRIOT SHOP IS NOW OPEN!!!! Newsom declared on Sunday via X. MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING THIS IS THE GREATEST MERCHANDISE EVER MADE. PLEASE ENJOY, AMERICA!
The store offers MAGA-red hats that read Newsom was right about everything!, a Trump is not hot tank top (riffing on the president's snipe at Taylor Swift), and a T-shirt naming the Democratic governor The Chosen One in a direct riff on Trump's own 2019 declaration. Within three hours of going live, Newsom boasted of WOW! $50,000 IN PURCHASES ALREADY!! THANK YOU PATRIOTS!!! He followed with a further post jibing that his signed Bibles, which were never really for sale, were sold out in a hit at Trump's hand-signed version:
