"U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder in Los Angeles ruled that the No Secret Police Act does not apply equally to all law enforcement officers because it excludes state law enforcement, and therefore "unlawfully discriminates against federal officers.""
"We will unmask these thugs and hold them accountable. Full stop,"
""huge win.""
U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder struck down the No Secret Police Act, ruling that it unlawfully discriminates against federal officers by excluding state law enforcement. The ruling noted that the mask ban does not prevent federal officers from performing federal functions and suggested a revised, non-discriminatory law might be constitutional. State Sen. Scott Wiener proposed an updated prohibition banning masks for all law enforcement officers in California and said he will file the revised bill immediately to unmask ICE and other federal agents. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who sued to block the law, framed the ruling as a victory for the federal government and immigration agents.
