The FBI executed a search of John Bolton's residence as part of a national security probe into classified documents. The FBI declined to comment and the White House did not respond to requests for comment. A federal magistrate judge in Maryland approved the search. Bolton said he was unaware of the FBI activity and was not detained or charged. Bolton's memoir underwent legal review and a 2021 DOJ inquiry was closed.
