Tracee Mergen, an FBI supervisor in Minneapolis, resigned after bureau leadership in Washington pressured her to discontinue a civil-rights inquiry into ICE agent Jonathan Ross following the Jan. 7 shooting death of Renee Good. Jonathan Ross shot and killed Good during a disputed, filmed incident in Minneapolis. Trump administration officials, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and the president, labeled Good a domestic terrorist and defended the killing. A video analysis showed no indication that Good ran over Ross. FBI agents drafted a warrant to seize Good's car to reconstruct bullet paths but were instructed to redraft it.
