Edward Forst was sworn in as General Services Administration Administrator on Christmas Eve in Indian River Shores, Florida, by Mayor Brian T. Foley while Forst was on jury duty. The Senate confirmed his nomination on Dec. 18 after an October hearing before the Senate committee. Forst has more than four decades of executive experience in financial services and real estate and recently served as chairman of Lion Capital. He has been on a listening tour across GSA as the agency consolidates federal real estate, reforms acquisition practices, pursues technology adoption and inks deals to save taxpayer dollars. Michael Rigas served as acting head since July, and the agency trimmed workforce levels while reversing planned tech layoffs.
