Dropkick Murphys back Jan. 6 officer after he confronts election denier in U.S. Senate hearing

"Much love to Michael Fanone for standing up for the people."
"go f*** yourself."
"This guy has threatened my family, threatened my children. Threatened to rape my children ... You sick bastard."
Michael Fanone, a former D.C. Metropolitan Police officer who defended the Capitol on Jan. 6, confronted far-right election conspiracy theorist Ivan Raiklin during a House Judiciary Committee hearing recess. Fanone repeatedly told Raiklin to "go f*** yourself" and called him "a traitor to this f***ing country," while two former law enforcement colleagues restrained Fanone when Raiklin got close. Fanone accused Raiklin of threatening his family and children; Raiklin denied those claims. The Dropkick Murphys publicly praised Fanone, noted his long-time fandom dating to the band's 1996 Washington D.C. show, and highlighted Fanone's "Fighting Nazis Since 1996" T-shirt. Hundreds of social media comments backed Fanone.
