A huge column of people walked north along the coastal road toward Gaza City, passing sandy beaches and areas attacked days earlier during one of Israel's biggest offensives. Residents reported widespread destruction: homes, neighbours' houses, and entire districts were destroyed. In Khan Younis, Israeli forces razed large areas, leaving a dusty moonscape and silent survivors searching salvageable items such as firewood. The Israeli military said the ceasefire agreement had been activated at noon local time. The first phase of the U.S. plan gives Israeli troops 24 hours to pull from urban positions while still holding more than half of Gaza. Donald Trump plans to visit Israel Monday and deliver a speech to the Knesset and may convene world leaders in Egypt.
