This is a reprehensibly irresponsible statement to make by a sitting US senator when we know almost nothing about the shooter's motive and background other than he was a fellow active duty soldier.
This is an incredibly irresponsible statement to make without any information about the motive or circumstances, particularly when we know the shooter was a member of the military.
