The Trump administration has redefined DACA recipients as illegal aliens, reversing earlier protections. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program allows eligible individuals to live and work in the U.S., but offers no pathway to citizenship. There are over half a million DACA recipients, many of whom have lived in the U.S. for most of their lives. DHS officials stated that DACA does not grant legal status, and individuals can face deportation. An initiative is now offering financial incentives and assistance for illegal aliens to voluntarily depart the U.S.
DACA does not confer any form of legal status in this country. Any illegal alien who is a DACA recipient may be subject to arrest and deportation for a number of reasons including if they've committed a crime.
Illegal aliens can take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $1,000 and a free flight to self-deport now.
