Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto responded assertively to accusations from Sen. Cory Booker about complicity with President Trump during Senate floor discussions. Masto emphasized her experience in effectively pushing back against the administration since her election in 2016. She expressed the need for practical legislation that serves swing states and promotes public safety, contrary to Booker's claim that current bills undermine law enforcement. Masto defended the bipartisan efforts, arguing that good legislation should not be discarded, as it is vital for restoring trust in government and benefiting all Americans.
I don't need lectures from anyone on how to push back and fight this administration. I've been doing it since I got to the Senate, because I won my Senate race in 2016 and Donald Trump won at the same time.
Why would you throw out good legislation that's going to benefit everyone across the country? That doesn't make sense. We still have to have a functioning government.
