Senator Thom Tillis said an illegal taking would prompt a war powers resolution capable of overriding a veto. Senator Lisa Murkowski urged viewing Greenland as an ally rather than an asset. A bipartisan congressional delegation traveled to Copenhagen to signal minimal backing for the use of force.
