FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino criticized former Director James Comey for his ambiguous "86 47" Instagram post, suggesting it incites violence against President Trump. Bongino described Comey's actions as emblematic of his failed leadership, claiming it casts a negative light on the FBI's reputation. Trump's response also highlighted concerns over the implication of the message, asserting that it clearly hinted at violence. Following backlash, Comey removed the post, but the incident led to discussions within law enforcement regarding its implications and intended meaning.
Former FBI Director James Comey brought shame to the FBI badge, yet again, this past week. The Director and I spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning up messes left behind by former Director Comey. And his latest actions are no exception.
He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant. If you're the FBI director, and you don't know what that meant, that meant 'assassination,' and it says it loud and clear.
