Rep. Dan Crenshaw faced persistent heckling at a Kingwood, Texas town hall over President Donald Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, ICE raids, and a police takeover. The Justice Department said there was no client list or Epstein Files worth releasing, prompting intensified scrutiny of Trump's past ties to Epstein and circulation of unearthed recordings and quotes. Public interest remained high, with polls showing 71 percent of Americans believe Trump knew about Epstein's crimes before investigations began. Video and livestreams captured chants of 'Release the Epstein Files!' and near-constant crowd interruptions. Local GOP officials said Crenshaw and other representatives communicated town-hall details privately to limit protests.
It now been almost two months since the Trump Justice Department dropped the bombless bomb heard 'round the world when they claimed there actually was no client list, and no Epstein Files worth releasing. At every stage, Trump has fanned the flames even as he attempts to tamp the story down, and critics have accused him of using his police takeover and other issues as a distraction.
That interest was also evident at Crenshaw's town hall in Kingwood, Texas Thursday. In video posted by independent journalist Jim Acosta, hecklers can be heard chanting Release the Epstein Files! as Crenshaw speaks. And in a livestream from KPFT host Egberto Willies, the heckling is near-constant, with members of the crowd drowning out Crenshaw on the Epstein issue, Trump's ICE raids, and his police takeover.
