Colorado removes from its Capitol a portrait of President Donald Trump that he called 'distorted'
Briefly

The portrait of Donald Trump, described as "purposefully distorted" by the former president, has been removed from the Colorado state Capitol where it was placed in 2019. Following Trump's criticisms on social media, Republican Senator Paul Lundeen called for its removal and a replacement that reflects a contemporary likeness. No objections came from Democrats regarding the removal, and Republicans are yet to disclose how they'll finance a new portrait. Trump has expressed he would prefer no portrait over the one that existed, while also appreciating the Obama's portrait by the same artist.
"Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the state Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before."
"If the GOP wants to spend time and money on which portrait of Trump hangs in the Capitol, then that's up to them."
