"Those emails that were released, you don't think raises any questions? Keilar asked before clarifying, The email where Epstein is saying to Maxwell that Trump spent hours at Epstein's house with someone whose name was redacted, who Republicans are now saying was Virginia Giuffre. Not right now, no, Gimenez said. And she has said that any time that she spent with him he did absolutely nothing wrong. So so there you have it."
"I have no problem in releasing the files that they have, Gimenez said. I know that they've also run into the court system some of the files they can't release because then it would put in jeopardy the names of a lot of the victims, and they want their privacy. He continued, And, so, whatever files can be released should be released."
Rep. Carlos Gimenez said he is not worried about released Jeffrey Epstein emails that reference Donald Trump, including a 2011 email Epstein sent to Ghislaine Maxwell claiming Trump spent hours at Epstein's house with an alleged victim. Gimenez noted that Virginia Giuffre has said Trump did nothing wrong during any time she spent with him. Gimenez expressed support for releasing Department of Justice files that courts permit, while acknowledging court restrictions exist to protect victims' privacy. Gimenez said any documents implicating President Trump would have been revealed earlier by the Biden administration when it controlled the files and said the American people need to know the truth.
