Initially, Owens responded defiantly, mocking Macron's decision to sue her and suggesting extreme actions like faking Brigitte Macron's death to avoid legal scrutiny. However, she later expressed disappointment in Donald Trump for failing to support her, questioning his commitment to free speech. Owens also criticized the Trump administration's approach to anti-Semitism and its perceived contradiction in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and claimed it does not truly uphold free speech values.
"Fire everyone around you who said this was a very good idea for you to be the first sitting first lady of a country to file a lawsuit against a journalist in another country," she continued before submitting that it's beyond obvious Macron has a penis.
"I think they'll fake kill Brigitte first," said Owens. But now Owens is striking a less confident tone, and upbraiding Trump for not coming to her defense as the Macrons attempt to impoverish her.
"The more that I think about it, the more absurd it is. Now the Trump administration, who purports to care about free speech, that was what they ran on."
