A doctor who witnessed the shooting declared that the victim lay on his side surrounded by ICE agents, and noted that standard practice of checking for a pulse and administering CPR was not performed. ICE agents appeared to be counting bullet wounds and initially told the doctor they did not know if the victim had a pulse. After cajoling, the agents allowed the doctor to perform CPR until EMS arrived. The account accuses CBP of assaulting and murdering Pretti and alleges Noem and others lied and are complicit.
