A 12-year-old boy fell from park apparatus at Wharton Recreation Ground near Ledward Street in Winsford and was found seriously injured; paramedics treated him but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Cheshire police and North West Ambulance Service responded, next of kin have been informed and specialist officers are supporting them. Police have opened an investigation and are appealing for anyone who was in or around the recreation ground at the relevant time to come forward.
