Body found in search for missing Brit last seen in Thailand
"Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story."
"Mark Counsell, 31, from Pontypool, was travelling in south-east Asia but disappeared after calling his family to wish them a happy holiday. Gwent Police had issued an appeal earlier this week for Mr Counsell who was believed to be in either Thailand or the Kuala Lumpur area of Malaysia. On Thursday, a police spokesman said: We received a report that a body of a man had been found by Malaysian Police on Wednesday January 7."
The Independent sends reporters to cover issues from reproductive rights and climate change to Big Tech, investigating matters such as Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC and producing documentaries like 'The A Word'. The outlet refuses to use paywalls and asks readers who can afford it to donate so journalists can continue reporting on the ground and present both sides of stories. A body believed to be that of 31-year-old Mark Counsell, from Pontypool, has been found in Malaysia after he disappeared while travelling in south-east Asia following a Christmas Day call to his family. Formal identification is pending and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
