The public polling industry has consistently underestimated support for President Donald Trump due to more individuals ignoring calls and texts from pollsters. Apple's upcoming iOS 26 features, such as on-device spam detection, may further complicate polling efforts. With a new folder for messages from unknown senders, many political solicitations, including fundraising texts, could be classified as spam. Pollsters are concerned that difficulties in reaching potential respondents will negatively impact their capabilities to gauge public sentiment effectively.

Apple's iOS 26 update introduces aggressive message filtering that could mark political solicitation texts as spam, further complicating outreach efforts for pollsters and fundraisers.
