The United States escalated its efforts against Iran's nuclear program by striking the Fordow facility and two other locations, leading to claims of severe damage. However, the exact status of Iran's highly enriched uranium, about 400 kilograms, remains ambiguous. Experts suggest Iran may have relocated some material to evade detection, although intelligence communities are likely tracking it. US President Trump declared the strikes obliterated the Fordow site, asserting that enriched materials would remain buried beneath rubble, yet independent verification of these claims is still pending.
"I think the safest way of describing it is that Iran knows where it is, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the public doesn't, and if the [Americans/Israelis] do, they're not telling," said Richard Nephew.
"There is a chance somewhere in the first days of the war, they could have moved it, they could have taken some of it to another place," said Oren Setter.
US President Donald Trump reiterated on June 25 that the US bombs inflicted massive damage on the Fordow facility, claiming, "We hit Iran so hard and so fast they didn't have time to move their enriched material."
