Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and later died. The shooting occurred at 12:10 p.m., about ten minutes after the event began, with a shot fired from a building roughly 200 yards away. Security removed Kirk from the stage and gave immediate aid. Approximately 3,000 people attended the outdoor event, and witnesses reported seeing blood from Kirk's neck and him going limp. Turning Point USA announced his death and asked for prayers. The university closed and remained closed through Sunday. Authorities have no suspect in custody; a person of interest was briefly detained and released.
