A shooting during final exams at Brown University killed two students and wounded nine others. Brown University canceled remaining fall semester classes and exams following the attack. Lindsay Gottlieb, a Brown alum and USC coach, called for action on gun violence and expressed distress about parents’ safety concerns. A former teammate reported a daughter sheltering in a library basement. Providence police detained a person of interest in his 20s but filed no charges and stated investigators are collecting evidence. The community responded with heightened concern and disruptions to campus activities.
