The United Nations fired additional staff members from its agency for Palestinian refugees after an internal investigation found they may have been involved in the Hamas-led Oct. 7 attack against Israel.
Israel's allegations led to top donor countries suspending funding for UNRWA, causing a cash crunch of about $450 million. All donors except the U.S. have decided to resume funding.
Israel called for donor countries to suspend UNRWA funding, believing it might go to terrorist elements. Israel sees UNRWA as part of the problem and urges its replacement.
