In Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, a group of volunteers is working on camouflage netting for the Ukrainian military amid the ongoing war. Many participants are refugees from Russian-occupied areas, like Kateryna Kyshkan, who experienced the horrors of occupation firsthand. She recounts the frightening experiences under Russian control and the challenges of escaping through dangerous routes. Despite the ongoing conflict, the city remains a hub of Ukrainian resistance, though it faces pressure from Russian forces claiming various regions, including Zaporizhzhia, as part of their territory.

To enter Ukraine from occupied territory, you have to pass through Russia or a third country, such as Belarus. It means going through Russian checkpoints.
