The National Hurricane Center issued a fresh bulletin warning a tropical storm, Debby, approaching the Florida Keys with sustained winds around 40 mph, moving at 15 mph. Tropical Storm Warnings and Hurricane Watch were in place for different regions with storm surges and heavy rainfall expected.
Storm surges and up to 15 inches of rain were forecasted along Florida's west coast, with life-threatening surf and rip current conditions expected. Winds were expected to strengthen, and state emergencies were declared in Florida and Georgia.
