C.L. Daniel, a World War I veteran, was identified as a victim of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, marking a significant step in the city's efforts to recognize those killed in the tragic event. His family had been unaware of his burial location for over a century until now, according to Mayor G.T. Bynum.
Tulsa officials collaborated with Intermountain Forensics to analyze DNA and genealogy to identify victims. Eight profiles were created from exhumed remains, linking to 19 surnames in seven states, showing the widespread impact of the massacre beyond Tulsa.
