As we traveled from Lebanon to Damascus, the atmosphere was charged with hope and disbelief. Many Syrians expressed relief at being liberated from a regime that had suppressed them for so long. In conversations, a recurring sentiment emerged: the anticipation of a more democratic and prosperous future, even amidst the uncertainty that lies ahead.
