"Anyone who knows Gene knows how reliable, present, and incredibly communicative they are. This silence is completely out of character, and we're deeply worried."
"Everyone is really worried, and we are keeping our fingers crossed That the help of people who were hiking or driving in the Red Rock Rainbow Wilderness Area, that they may have seen something."
"Gene is the first person to text me back no matter where they are in the country."
Eugene "Gene" Gragg, a 34-year-old San Francisco native who lives in Brooklyn and works at a Bay Area AI startup, has been missing since November 16. Their last known location, reportedly from a cellphone ping, was near Lovell Canyon in the Red Rock Rainbow Wilderness west of Las Vegas. Gragg uses they/them pronouns. Friends say Gragg had no known history of drug use or mental health issues and had not told anyone about a planned trip to Las Vegas, though some friends heard a wish to stargaze. Volunteers searched trails around Lovell Canyon but found no evidence. Friends describe the silence as out of character and urge anyone with information to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Missing Persons Detail at 702-828-.3111 or email [email protected].
