Severe weather and critical fire risk, ranked 'multi-hazard,' expected nationwide

A spring storm is forecasted to bring severe weather across parts of the U.S. from Monday through mid-week. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of thunderstorms, possible tornadoes, severe winds, and large hail as the storm moves from the Central Plains through the Midwest towards the Great Lakes. Alongside this, heavy snow and dangerous travel conditions are expected in Nebraska and surrounding areas, while the South faces strong winds and fire risks with red flag warnings in effect. Conditions conducive to tornadoes and damaging winds are anticipated mid-week, affecting several states.
The multi-hazard storm is expected to move across the Central Plains and through the Midwest toward the Great Lakes region starting Monday evening.
Thunderstorms should increase late this evening and merge into a squall line overnight across parts of the southern and central Plains.
