Local news station WHAV reported that Haverhill police station's flags were at half-staff and memorial buntings were hung over the station's entrance."
Katelyn Tully, 32, died unexpectedly on Sept. 26. She served with the Haverhill Police Department and was a member of both the Police and Military Honor Guards. She was a decorated Army veteran who served six months in Afghanistan and will be buried with military honors. She valued uplifting women in law enforcement and planned to expand her career into behavioral and mental health advocacy. Visiting hours are Oct. 2 at Nichols Funeral Home; a Christian Mass will be held Oct. 3 at St. Thomas of Villanova Church at 11 a.m., with burial at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington. Donations are requested for the Wounded Warrior Project. The death is under investigation by the Essex County District Attorney.
