San Jose has among the lowest rates in all categories, with the third fewest violent crimes and fifth fewest property crimes. Los Angeles ranked second and Forth Worth, Texas ranked third."

The city has about seven traffic deaths per 100,000 residents and 17 drug overdose deaths per 100,000 residents, with 17.8% of its population reporting excessive drinking."
