QVC Cuts 900 Staffers in Pivot to 'Live Social Shopping'
Briefly

QVC announced the layoff of approximately 900 employees as part of a reorganization following the consolidation with the Home Shopping Network (HSN) earlier this year. The company stated that this move impacts staff from various divisions and aligns with its strategy to transition into a live social shopping company. With over 17,000 employees globally, these layoffs represent about 5% of QVC's workforce. New leadership under Alex Wellen is expected to drive growth and introduce new capabilities, signifying a shift in the company’s operational focus.
As a result of this reorganization, we made the very difficult decision to eliminate a number of roles. In the U.S., this impacts approximately 900 team members across HSN, QVC US and our Global Shared Services.
This reorganization is part of our strategy to grow by becoming a live social shopping company, focusing on key capabilities to drive success and growth.
