Prep talk: Unbeaten La Canada turns to running back Dash Paper
""He's awesome," Avramovich said. "He's grown up a ton. Last year he was the backup running back. He had a bunch of touchdowns called back because of penalties. We could see the explosiveness in practices and games. He's running tough.""

""I don't want to play St. Francis," Avramovich said."
La Cañada High senior running back Dash Paper has rushed for 689 yards and six touchdowns through five games. In a recent 42-13 victory over Maranatha, Paper gained 189 yards and scored one touchdown. The Spartans improved to 5-0 with wins over Crescenta Valley, La Salle and Maranatha. Coach Dave Avramovich noted Paper's growth from last year's backup role and highlighted his explosiveness and toughness despite earlier penalties that negated scores. La Cañada could claim neighborhood bragging rights if it faced St. Francis, though the coach said he does not want that matchup. Camarillo's girls flag team sits at 16-1.
