Louisiana State Police released video and records related to a December 2024 crash that killed 78-year-old Herman Hall in Chackbay, La. The department stated it never reported the green [Dodge] Charger impacted any involved vehicles but said all evidence supports the conclusion that Kyren Lacy’s reckless operation of the Charger in oncoming traffic triggered the chain of events leading to the fatal crash. Kyren Lacy, 24, died April 12 in Houston of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound during a pursuit. An arrest warrant had cited felony negligent homicide, hit-and-run driving, and misdemeanor reckless driving, and prosecutors were preparing a grand jury referral.
